Are you proud to be american or British?
I am british and very proud because of what we have given to this world. What have you yanks done? We invented most things you use today,…..
trains, tv, computers, internet, penicillin, radar, jet engine, electricity (we invented it first, but you claimed it first), cat eyes, periodic table, oxygen and gravity (discovered), clockwork radio, adjustable spanner, sandwiches, engines, fire extinguisher, lawn mower, rubber band, tin can, corkscrew, mouse trap, sewing machine, postage stamp, perforated toilet paper, vacuum cleaner, hydraulic press, stainless steel, spallpox vaccine, viagra, shrapnel shell, tanks, gas masks, the equals sign, electrical generator, smallpox vaccine, dna finger printing, theory of evolution, windsurfing, football, rugby, tennis, cricket, badminton, catterpillar track, seat belt, belisha beacon, hovercraft, life boat, submarine, crossword puzzle, umbrellas, valves, fuel cell, x-rays, times tables, bicycles, lorries, bridge, suspension bridge, tubular steel, canals, docks, cranes, lighthouses, coal-gas lighting, steam boats, hot blast oven, wire rope, post office, mail van service, telephone, teleprinter, fax machine, radio, postcards, hypnosis, ultrasound, mri scanner, first cloned mamal, shot put, hammer throw, cycling, basketball, golf, mountaineering, piano, waterproof coat, paraffin, life rings, fountain pen, electric clock, ghillie suit, colour photography, chemistry, hollow needle, guided missile, steam turbine, radiotherapy, ejector seat, tractors, portable defibulators.
i think thats enough of that.
Also not to mention the most powerful country in the world from medievil times until the breakdown of our empire, the greatest in the world, where america was in it, and you may be richer but we have a higher gdp per capita and the pound is above the dollar.

why are people from Ethiopia proud to be Ethiopian? It’s called nationalism. I’m proud of my country because I was born and raised there, because of the history it has, because it is where my roots are. Brits are proud of British accomplishment in their colonial empire. Americans are proud of their accomplishment to be the first to break off from the British Empire. America is the most diverse country in the world. It was the first transcontinental nation. I could go on, but I would just be listing facts from a textbook. pick up an American History book and see for yourself!

Yeah, sure.
There is a difference between being proud to be British because of it’s rich history vs. being proud because of what “we” have given to this world.

I’m proud to be British, for sure!
(and I’m Australian)
Nationalism, however, is a dangerous thing.

i’m neither,
and listing inventions from a country they happened to be invented in doesn’t do anything for me, it’s not like you personally invented them!!
I’d be embarrassed to be american, because they are such a nation of idiots.

it is just plain stupidity to say your proud to be american, english or any other nationality.
you can take pride in something that you have done, (I.E exam results, jobs, etc) because that is actually something that you have achieved rather than just being circumstantial.
Just being born into a certain nationality is nothing to be proud of as you had very little input into being born.
However, you can say “I’m PLEASED to be American, Scottish, English etc” but not Proud.

lets go with:
Airplane, Anesthesia, The Assembly Line, The ATM, Color Film, Cotton Gin, E-mail, FM Radio, Free Public Schools, Kevlar, The Microprocessor, Microwave Oven, The Motion Picture, The MRI, Novocaine, The Nuclear Power Plant, The Personal Computer, The Phonograph, Polaroid Instant Photography, The Polio Vaccine, The Rocket, The Sewing Machine, The Skyscraper, Sneakers, Typewriter, Air Conditioning, Astro turf, adhesive bandage, bar code, chewing gum, credit card, elevator, jell-o, miniature golf, pacemaker, post-it notes, skateboard, straw, sunblock, teddy bear, Viagra, Zamboni, and you may drink a lot of tea, but we invented the teabag.
And also take everything the British have invented since the the US was founded and it pales in comparison.
Oh and your most powerful country in the world that had all of its colonies rebel(including this one).
And as far as the periodic table is concerned, you may have invented it, but America is the one that keeps improving it and creating more elements. We even named one after ourselves, Americium.
Oh and next time check your source, the MRI is an American invention.
