I have a few things, but not in surplus. I’d be totally unprepaired in a major incident.

Isn’t that stuff already in your home, otherwise what’s in all those trucks when people move?

well, not really, we did that wen hurricane rita was supposedly going to be TERRIBLE but we only got wind and nothing else. not a single drop of rain, so i guess we have SOME of those emergency supplies you mentioned left over from “hurricane” rita. but not like a plan or anything.

The biggest single item I have for emergency preparedness is an Electric Generator with enough fuel for almost 7 days operation. It connects via a proper transfer panel to the furnace, fridge, freezer, well pump, kitchen outlets, lights, and even the television and computer. The house is routinely stocked with canned food, we have a safe and stable supply of water, and could remain in the house living comfortably without any problem.
Each car has an emergency first aid kit, but little else in the way of emergency supplies. If we are going on a long drive extra things are added, but otherwise driving is within 20 minutes of home.
