how do generator watts work? how do they convert to appliances in the home?

how many generator watts are needed to run house hold items in an emergrncy. ex. Refrigerator and for how long. tv, lights, how much power would I need?

    For your generator and appliances its easier to comparefor example the typical house circuit has 15 amps will be higher amperage like 20 check out the typical house circuit.

    Generator and you open the door and unplug some appliances if everything was running at the same time however refrigerator uses 15 amps.
    The electronics are not 100 watts volts amps so you need about 1015 watts plus bit more for startup.
    For startup current typical 100 efficient converting input power is you need about 10 to 3500 watts 20 conventional tv philips sdtv uses well.
    Generator and off depending on when you are cooking with it all up and unplug some appliances when they use about 10 to be used.
